Your question has been asked numerous times. I've seen a couple for sale here in Sweden during the last year. (As the market for LS400 is very small here, two cars make up for maybe 3-5% of all the LS's for sale and maybe some 7-10% of the early first gen LS's.) So while leather is the usual option for most LS's, there were a few which came with cloth in the beginning. I've never seen a second gen (95...) or later LS without anything but leather.

Agree, My Parts car's cloth upholstery is in well condition after 200K. But it hasn't got the rich look leather gives

Not that we have too much sun in Sweden, but on hot sunny summer days without a shaded parking spot cloth does have its advantages compared to leather. But I still prefer the very nice leather interior of my 95.

I've seen a handful of examples with cloth seats but only super early ones. Saw one once with red cloth seats.. Cool when new but they look absolutely disgusting after 20 years

My '91 was bought new by my in-laws in SoCal. They did not want a sun roof, so to avoid getting that they chose the option package without leather seats = cloth. BUT they had the dealer immediately install non-factory leather before taking delivery.

I want some cloth seats.... lol would take daily abuse and I can switch my leather back in when I go cruising or whatever.

yea me to i saw like 5-6 when i was buying my car. i also saw red cloth seats. if im buying a ls400 i want leather. those were a immediate pass for me.

i bought a cheap ($300) 90 ls400 with blue cloth interior as a project. I much prefer cloth. It was 19 years old at the time, and quite abused. The cloth wore like iron. I wish i could get a celsior cloth interior for my 95 and my wife's 2000.

Cloth is quieter, softer, longer lasting, less conducive to temperatures. Cloth will never burn your ***!
