Exhaust crackling?

My exhaust seems to be crackling while on and off. It seems to be coming from between the the cats and the y pipe. Anyone know why this would be?

No cel's. But i do hear a grinding like noise in the same spot inside the car? Only while the car is still. Didnt know if they were related
