I didn't mean for it to be a personal criticism of your set up...
I don't mind at all. I've had this setup for about 6-8 months now. I live in rural area so the roads at night are pretty dark but I haven't had anybody flash me or pulled over.

I have HIDs in my stock lenses and I have no problems with oncoming cars. I think I got flashed twice probably cause they thought I had my high beams on. I have 10000k

I removed the yellow housing from the fogs, popped in some new h3c bulbs from ebay (12bux for both shipped) and i leave my fogs on all the time. Light output is dramatically increased.

Headlights alone was horribly bad.

I have been irritated by my poor lighting for a long time now on my 93 LS.

Just recently one of my fog lights died so I decided it's time to upgrade those.

I got 3000K (yellow) H3 HID's and I may remove the yellow shielding (since the HIDs themselves are yellow), I will let everyone know how the lighting is after I finish installing them.

Take LiCelsior's advice unless you don't mind a washed out yellow color for your fogs.

Wasn't sure about removing the shielding or not, glad I got some feedback on that. I love the deep yellow color :P

What the light bulb size for the 1990 LS400?

I want to get HIDs 6000-6,500, or should I get 8,000?

I recommend HID's I have 4300k myself they work like a charm but you do need to find space for the ballasts and it's a little tricky to get to the driver side headlight housing because you need to remove the battery. And on the passenger side you have to remove part of the airbox to get access. Fogs are way easier to deal with.

5000k is pure white, 6000k is white with a tiny hint of blue (closer to actual sunlight)

Ok, All I want is pure white bright headlights, and if 5k is the one, than that's what I'll be getting. Thanks.
