Default Shift **** Removal???

Has anyone removed their shift **** with O/D on a first gen LS??? I took off the cover plate on the front, removed the 2 set screws and pulled it up some but the O/D is holding me up. I don't want to pull it too much and ***** up the wires. Any suggestions???

TIA,

Josh

Default Removing handle

I just did this about a month ago when I had new leather put on my shift handle. I popped out the O/D switch and cut the wires, being careful to leave enought wire exposed and connected to the switch to allow me to solder the wires and tape them together and reinstall. It worked well.

P.S. do not take apart the O/D switch, it is spring loaded and I looked for small parts for about an hour after it came apart in my car.
