Default Radio tuning odd , even issue

Hi,

Guys, I m in UAE and I imported Ls400 2000 model From US. The audio unit is pioneer OEM. Only issue is that here radio chanels broadcast in even number e.g 106.2, 94.6, 87.8 etc. But in my case I can only tune 106.1, 94.5 or 94.7. I think you guys got my point. So can we change the tuning pattern. So I can get both in odd and even (.) point values.

Thanks

So not sure if this will work but i have a 98GS with nav that i have done this hack to, and a 90LS. Not positive this will work but if it does this is my guess on where you would find it with out taking it back to dealer.

You can get to a special menu by For non NAV pioneer cars by pressing the CD key 3 times while holding down channel 1 or 6. Then press and hold the AM button for about 4 seconds to get into the menu mode. I am not sure what settings are available as i have no way to test but toggle through with the tape button.

Please post what you find for others that may have same question.

Thanks Jrezo,

I tried but not working ,while power off and on holding 1 or 6 channel button but nothing happened, no menu it simply switch to AM radio while i am holding the AM button. Is there any other secret or can you please explain more in detail whether I should try it while system power off or On.

LOL, Sorry i missed an important part. Turn the key to acc, with radio on but dont turn the motor. You can exit menu by just turning the key off it will save changes and if you want to remove any changes you can pull battery to reset.

Now try, please let us know.

Ya might be the case,

I have done it on my Nav and know that others have done it on their 98gs.

Check this if you want to give it another shot, or i may be leaving something out for the none Nav. Search radio hack under GS.

Thanks Jrezo,

It's working, but it's only to change audio settings. But there is one interesting feature.
See ,while holding 1 and 6 together and pressing CD key 3 times will give P130. well if we press '1' while not pressing and holding AM key it will give 'SYS' then display chages to '00'. May be here we can change something, but the issue is that if I change seek up or down nothing happens it stays at '00'. Or pressing other keys. I think if we can change this setting it might change the radio tuning pattern also. What do you think?.
May be '01' will give some different settings. But cannot change I tried all keys holding them, or pressing them for different times nothing.

Ahh, good work. Ya not sure. You are really the first i think to try something like this. Wonder if there is a manual on sys settings somewhere???

Will reasearch an answer.
Were LS400's of your model year sold as new in UAE?

If I recall, there are several Pioneer radio variants for specific markets.

There are adapters that convert "odd" radio frequencies to "even" frequencies. I do not know if either of these would work for you but it is likely that you can find one that will:
