Default At speed and let off gas car will jerk?

This car is new to me but I don't think it should do this 1995 153K, at speed on the interstate if I let off the gas quick the car jerks forward or back , I go forward, like I hit the brakes or there is slack in the drive line? Anyone else had an issue like this.
Recent service history.
@ 133K a 30,000 mile servise was done, trans and diff fluid, cooling system flush, bleed brakes, clean throttle body, inspec and lube.
@ 130K Timing belt
@ 120K 60,000 mile service was done, tran and diff fluid, pcv valve, fuel injection filter, platinum spark plugs, brake bleed, cooling flush, throttle body and fuel injector clean.
@ 109K power steering pump/pully
@108 both cats replaced

you need an updated ECU probably. the 95 had a tsb where there was a shudder from 40-50 because ecu would drop rpms. It would only get done if the customer complained. I guess alot of people don't notice.

do a search its been covered. My 95 has the same prob.

7schulz just came up on a new ride, thats how we know the year.

You can resest the ECU by pulling the battery for about 30sec. This will reset the driving habits from the old lady. Just a shot and at least its free.

My 1991 LS400 (225K miles) did something similiar to this for the past two years. I discounted it as bad motor mounts... turns out it was the throttle body was extremely dirty! However, I notice you mentioned yours had already been cleaned, so I am not sure.

I had it cleaned three weeks ago and acceleration is smooth and no more jerking! Unfortunately, a day later something caused my check engine light to come on. It had never done that before. Code is 71, (EGR malfunction). Apparently some of that junk got lodged in the EGR? Guess it will go back to the shop on Monday.

As someone else mentioned, could be transmission mount... mine was replaced 4000 ago and it was much smoother after I changed it.

I will give the battery a try, has anyone been able to convince Lexus to cover this with the TSB recently.

My 95 does this too. I noticed this last year (when I got it) but went away in the summer. Now that its colder again, the issue is back. Can temperature play a factor in this?

I thought I read that the TPS can play a factor in this. Although the transmission mounts is supposed to be easy to replace so not a bad place to start.

Guarantee it's your rear diff carrier bushings. Had the exact same problem on my 20 a while back.

Well I disconnected the battery and let my foot slide off the pedal instead of pull it back and it doesn't do it anymore. If I pull it off fast it still jerks but not as bad. Unless people have been able to get Lexus to pay for this, I think this is my fix.

Bc its a Lexus and brand loyalty and it's a known issue. All businesses have "policy" that cover issues like this that don't necessarily fall under warranty but they know it's an issues and want to keep customers happy. The lady I bought my car from is the original owner and if she complained it would not be a smart move for Lexus to deny the fix.

Because of pure perseverance and drive. With the right amount of complaining any customer services cant survive. Unfortunately,

Yeah... if they repaired all of the bad power steering issues on the gen 1 LS400s, they would go out of business. Finally got mine all straightened out.... took 2 years, but I finally got it.

I still think they should have recalled them for this, the trunk wiring harness issue (mine had already been repaired).

It would have been nice for them to have made the valve cover gaskets easier to change and for those that have had starter problems...easier to deal with that. My 91 has 225K and has the original starter.... still starting fine, but I dread the day it goes out. Hopefully it will be sold by then.

Is there a cut off date where the ECU was fixed? Would a 96 ECU work inplace of the bad 95? below one says 10/94 and the other says 3/05 could this be a newer unit that would have the fix in it?
