how wide can i go with tires?

i have a 2000 ls400. it has the stock 16" rims. i am keeping the rims, but want to put the widest tires possible without rubbing. stock is 225/60/16. also i might put spacers on, any suggestions? thanks

i think the width of the stock 16s are 7"..u can get away with 245s but thats about as much as i would go...255s are gonna look stoopid.

If you arent doing any other modification, it makes no sense. The car is engineered to work best with the 225/60/16. You may want to look at changing the quality of the rubber.

they do make 225/60/16 KDWs.....id pick some up if i wanted some UHP summer tires.

I think the Toyo Proxes T1R in 245/55-16 may be the only "plus zero" substitute available for the OEM 225/60-16 tires for use on OEM 16" wheels on the LS400 that keeps the speedometer accurate. Toyo advertisements in car magazines in the mid/late 1990s used to show them on LS400's.

plus anything wider is going to be ballooned to hell on the stock width rims.

thanks for all the info. what about spacers?
