Default 1991 ls 400 transmission slipping when cold

any suggestions i have a 1991 ls 400 car has over 200,000 miles car has been serviced periodically, when starting car if you put car into drive there is a delay before it engages, and if you try to drive it, feels like it is slipping, but if you let it warm up everything is fine, someone told me the seals in the trans are leaking, is there an additive that i could use to put in the transmission, any suggestions

thanks

hello,
this might sound silly, but it is a start
is your fluid level up to spec?
is the fluid the proper Toyota T-IV, as recommended?
