Possibly a bad injector but sounds more like a spark problem. You'll have to pull the park plug covers off on each bank but check wires including the coil wires. Make sure you don't see any spark arcing. Even i they are just replaced.

Try disconnecting the EGR valve's electrical connector. It solved the engine miss and surge problem on my '93 without any negative side effects. The EGR is bolted to the driver's side of the intake manifold and is black and round with a large, horizontal electrical connector.

the check engine light is supposed to come on when the key is in the on position because its not getting a reading from you cam and crank sensors but when you turn the key to start the car it will turn out... its the car checking its self so dont go through the hassle of pulling the panel. the cam and crank sensors send a signal only when the engine is running so when the engine is off it thinks it has a problem but its not.

I don't have the egr system on my car i took it off..and i put resistors in the connectors to keep from getting a engine light.. I do know my wires and caps are original so maybe this is the problem.
