91 ls400 trunk wont open

i tried searchin the forum for this topic. but i havnt acme across it. my trunk wont open. the latch under the steering wheel wont open it and even when i stick my key into the trunk it wont open. any thoughts?

take it dealer, they should out of courtesy, open it for free
