94(LS400) help removing rear bottom seat
Any hints on the proper way to unlatch it? I'm working my way to the upper deck in order to remove my strut bolts.

Re: 94(LS400) help removing rear bottom seat
I originally tried this last December and asked the same question. There are two tabs that hold in the rear seat bottom, these are in the front part of the seat. They are angled to hold the seat and these tabs need to be compressed together. It is difficult to do, I just got two thin crow bars and lifted the seat that way. It did not hurt it in any way. I'm going by memory, but you will feel the flat metal on these two tabs protruding slightly under the front of the seat. I believe if you push these both back towards the rear of the car at the same time and lift, the seat will unattach. I need to change rear struts, so let me know how the jobs goes. I removed my rear seat to put new leather on it.

Thank you for the info..... I'm going to try it again this weekend. I've replaced struts on other cars but not a Lexus. I will let you know how it turn out.
You replaced the leather on your seat? Is it expensive? Cool

I just got my struts/shocks replaced yesterday with Tokico Blue and Eibach Springs... Those tabs for the seat are just where PetroJeff says they are.. Also the back/top part of the rear seat has four bolts that need to be removed before the seat will come out.
Two are in the middle, right next to the bolts that hold the seat belt buckles. The other two (one on each side) are on the outside of the seat near the door/fender wall..once you remove those four, just lift the seat up and forward and out it comes....
As far as removing the rear shocks, my guys had disconnect the axles to make way for the shock to drop.. At some points it was a two man job, lifting, twisting .....
Put it this way, replacing the struts/shocks on a Lexus, is in no way as easy as doing a Honda.... not even close.
