Default Out with the old, in with the new. Look!

Hey guys, its been a while since I've posted. I bought my 96 LS400 last year around this time. Its has been a great car even though it was costly in the begining to maintainance everything, I still think it was worth every penny. Last month, my wife was driving it and someone ran the red light and hit the drivers side. My wife and kids walked out without a scratch. I am so thankful they are ok, and the Lexus did its job of protecting them. Insurance totalled the car and paid me more than what I paid for it. So in a few short weeks of searching for just the right car, I found a 2000 LS400 Platinum Edition SE with 104k miles. Its perfect. Here's a few pics.

Jason

Thanks guys! I've noticed that in several ways the new car is WAY nicer and in much better condition than my 96. I still cant believe I found exactly what I wanted. I think I got a average deal for $10,500

glad to see your wife and kids got out alright, this seems to be a nasty accident, but luckily no humongous g-load the LS did it's job.

thats a competitive price for a plat series with those miles PROVIDED that the timing belt was done at ~90k miles. if not you need to get it done asap. looks clean

Wink

Loved your 96 LS -- consider it the best style LS of all. At least your 00 LS has front side airbags and lots of other safety improvements. Between the increasing number of the 2000 LS400 Platinums and similar Canadian 2000 LS400 Milleniums on this forum, we could darn near start our own subforum!

Thanks guys! Jim your car is beautiful! I did ask about the timing belt, and it has not been changed. I looked at the sched maint. and it says 120k but I will get it done. And the cabin air filter was the factory one so it was changed!!

Man those rims are looking mint. Did you get them chromed?
The factory finish is starting to flake and peel on mine.

These wheels were replacements under warranty in late 2003 after I bought the car used and they are still in perfect condition. The original chrome wheels were trashed by the first owner/lessee from winter use on our salty roads.

I have a set of painted Mille Miglia wheels with Blizzak snow tires for winter use. The chrome wheels go on the car on the first day of Spring and come off the week before Thanksgiving.
