Warning light
Hi everyone!! Newbie in England. Have bought a cheap LS400 (£550) about
$800?? It drives ok, but has a slight hesitation when on very small throttle openings, which i put down to plugs etc. My question is about a warning light on the dash--looks like a circle surrounded by a broken line?? Could it be a tail light warning. Or more serious? Also. what make of plug is best?? Cheers Mick |
im gonna be nice and tell you, but search the forum for before asking a question as the solution is easily found.
its a brake sensor warning light. either your brakes or shot or when the brakes were replaced the sensor was not. usually not a big issue. the light in my 93' has been on for over a year but it stops on a dime. |
With a japanese car you should of course use japanese spark plugs. :) Nippon Denso or NGK, the Iridium plugs should last you some 60000 miles or so. Also change the wires, distributors and rotors while you're at it. There an excellent tutorial with loads of pictures at http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/ignition/sparkplugs.html. On the same site there's all sorts of information, including one tutorial on the distributors/rotors.
But first, try to see if you can find any information on when the spark plug job was last done. If it was done recently (i.e. within some 2 years/20000miles), there's probably something else causing your slow throttle response. Maybe the throttle body needs cleaning. (Yes, Lexls does have a tutorial on that too.) //Björn |
Thanks guys, good to know its no big deal. I have just renewed the front
brakes, and they are great now, no sensor wires to connect though?? Gonna start releasing the noise from the v8 next, the car is far too quiet.:) |
