Default My LS won't peel out!

Hey guys,

I've tried everything. I have a 95 LS400 and I just can't get it to peel out. I've removed the traction control, put it in power mode, stuck it in low gear, tried building up the revs with the brake but it doesn't wanna do anything. It isn't important but I'm curious to know why I cannot peel out when others on the forum with UCF10's peel out easily. It seems strange to me. Anyone have any ideas?

First up, I'd check how well your car is accelerating to 100kmh/60mph. With just a driver, near empty tank, in PWR, manually shifting at redline, it should get there in about 8 seconds flat. If it takes longer, then you know SOMETHING is choking it up. Could be anything from a vacuum leak to a faulty sensor, ****ty spark plugs, bad spark lead etc, clogged cats etc. Just work out if its actually got as much power as it should first.

I'll check it out, it seems to accelerate quite quickly but it just doesn't spin the tires. I know I need to change the plugs soon though, could be the problem.

Are you running on the OEM rim and tire size? If you changed the diameter of the rims and tires and now the overall outside diameter is greater than the original OEM spec, this will affect your ability to spin them.

If you car accelerates quickly without problem, then you are in the lucky minority who actually have traction (good tires) and nice roads.

My guess is that it's the spark plugs. Maybe check the small things like engine air filter, fuel maintenance tune-up and such. Then try the whole thing again...VSC off, PWR on and.....GO!!

I'm just thinking that initially I had Potenza G019's on my car and it wouldnt peel out ever, but still had great acceleration. I now have some Avon M550's on there and they'll make noise whenever I want even though the Bridgestones are traction A and the Avons are traction AA.

I really think the tire compound may be the key here because the other thing with the Avons I have are that they are super hard and really loud as a result so I can understand why peeling them would be easier.
