Question Rear Wheel looks like it is falling off!!

On my 1994 LS400 (330K miles); when driving heard a clunking noise coming from right rear, the rear end fishes when braking; when I looked at the right rear tire it appears to be way out of alignment. When I got under the car, I discovered that the right rear strut rod is hanging loose and the stut rod bolt is missing. Is the car driveable or should I have it towed to the shop. How hard is to be replace the bolt myself? Any ideas?

Obviously, you should not drive the car. TOW IT. That bolt, IIRC, is a 17mm. It will take some time to locate one and replace it.

I don't ever remember those coming off.

u can probably temporarily go to home depot and get a 17mm bolt and place it. then drive to a shop of your choice and then order new ones as urs are probably worn out already.

Spoke to my mechanic by phone - who is a certified Lexus mechanic - he told me to do exactly that - get a replacement bolt, lock tite from either Lowes or Home Depot and bring the car to him for a complete check to see why the bolt came off.
