Default Replacement Leather = side airbag problems?

I'm looking at getting new leather skins for my seats due to age taking a toll on the tan leather in my LS. I did catch somewhere that it may interfere with the side airbags. Any thoughts or confirmation? Is there a way to do it right without causing airbag issues?

Thanks!

-disconnect the battery for a while before touching the seats.

-make sure the place you're buying the skins from knows that you have curtain airbags in the seats and to make the appropriate measures in the skin.
