Quick question... I thought that the IDMAX's are not for free air. But how does it sound? I'm looking to put together a system myself. Thanks.

They are great freeair but I think I am overpowering them a little bit. I have heard 4 of them freeair and they did great. However when we turned it up to the point when it started to hurt, we smelled voice coils. Matt at Image Dynamics says that its all good though...they were designed with freeair application in mind.

Nice setup. You think I can meet you sometimes this weekend if you're free so I can check out your system? I live in Irvine, Ca and it's not that far from San Diego. I can't seem to find any LS400's like ours with a nice sound system. Thanks for the consideration. Hope I'm not intruding or anything.
