Default Position of Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor

I searched but could not find a pic.

Is the ECT sensor of a 96 LS400 at the same position of the engine as that in a 93 LS?

I need a confirmation before I tear the engine apart.

Thanks.

Nothing to tear apart they are both at the top of the engine .
It is hard to miss a brass fitting.

It's on the thermostat housing - remove the spark plug wire bridge cover.

Thumbs up

On the '93 it's under the ignition coil. Be sure you are looking at the plug with the 2 wire connector, not the one wire. Also, there is a copper washer you must re-use - don't lose it. Don't use teflon tape. Use your sparkplug socket to remove it. Torque is not critical - firm tight, not gorilla tight.
