I'm not sure...but I'm going to (after much delay) purchase the 1993 LS manual.

JasonNich, maybe you want to wait on till Monday?

I'm going to talk to my service rep to get it a discount or something...if I buy two, different years, maybe I can get a cheaper price.

PM me if your interested

Default 90/92

When I bought my first Lexus, a 92 LS, the dealer gave me a complete 1990 set to use until the 92's were available. There were some differences but almost everything applied. Additionally the 90 manuals were more complete than anything I have seen since.

When I got my 92 manuals I gave the 90's away with a used burgandy/ivory 90 LS400 I had bought for a friend.

The 91 manual is currently on ebay. I'm going to try the bid process. Thanks for the opportunity for discount. I think they have to be close enough if i can get cheap enough.

Anything over $160 is too much...

Why don't you call 800-908-6968 ask for Steve Ganz and mention you are a forum memeber. Two volume set shouldn't be more than $130.

There is another site you can shop for price, I think it's sc400.com

I had a mechanic friend order for my 93 SC400. I paid $90 for two volume. Then ~$30 for the electrical manual from Steve Ganz.

Default Sky High Manual Prices

Steve Ganz gets somewhere in the neighborhood of $125 for volume 1 and $55 for volume 2 (that is what I was quoted over the phone) for a 1990 set. I bought a brand new in the cellophane two volume set of 1991's from www.books4cars.com for $158 plus~$10 shipping. Excellent service, family run business. They now have a 1990 set on their site, but for a lot! more money, and their is not enough difference to pay it. (Brake rotors and a few other parts differences-buy one of those parts lists for the UC10's on Ebay for about $15 and you have all the parts numbers thru '94) The only bad thing about the volume 1 on Ebay is it does not have any of the interior or body stuff, so all of the references on how to remove this or that made in volume 1 will not be found without volume 2.

As far as bidding on the manual on Ebay, unless you can be in front of your computer or will use a sniper, someone will outbid you up to the tune of $120-160 for it at the last minute (literally). I have lost three manuals in the last 30 seconds of the bid due to sniping. Good Luck.

Wierd, I always thought that the two volume always sold in pair...
have you check with www.sc400.com? They may have it at cheaper price. Or if you have a mechanic friend, he can order it for you at cheaper price.

$180 for two volume is highway robbery.
Steve Ganz are you reading this

I just bought this 1990 LS400 and love it! It was a 1 owner, my company presidents car to be specific. Mint condition and only 113,000. He practically gave it to me for $3000. This is no joke. The only problem is that the power steering seems to leak. I thought i might purchase the manuals to help figure out the problem. Everyone has been a great help. Thanks again.

JASONNICH
YOU GOT A STEAL!
If the car is in excellent condition and well maintained you scored big time!

I paid 8K for my 90 LS last october with 118,000 miles.

I know! I couldn't believe the price when I asked him! I was truly lucky. Have you had any leaking power steering problems?

Wow, $3000 is a good price.
go to wwww.autozone.com and check out the LS400 power steering pump for price. You can also check NAPA...
I think it about $120 + core for the LS. Change the pump yourself. May not need the manual for now, but deffinitely need for later work.
Do a search or keep reading on this LS site, this topic was discuss in detail and I did ask how to take the pump out.

Good Luck

Are the Lexus manuals easy enough for anyone to understand? Or are they more for the mechanically-minded with some prior experience working on cars?
