Bare with a potential LS400 owner. I live in Mishawaka, Indiana just outside South Bend. The local dealer has a spotless 1997 LS400, 91K on the odometer. It is not a coach model. I can go to NADA and get an approximate cost for this model with no problem. The dealer, however, has a "make your best offer" on the windshield. The car was owned by a local oncologist and is a one owner. I don't have to tell you that the economy has taken a huge hit in this area with the highest unemployment in the nation in the adjoining county! My question is this, What would be a good opening offer knowing the dealer is desperate?

if 90k was done and all else is good, i'd say around 6000-6500 at most.

if it wasnt done, 5500tops.

The specs are incorrect in that HID headlights and rear heated seats were not available on the U.S. specification LS400.

If you are really interested in the car, bid LOW. You can always increase a low offer but you can't reduce a high offer.

As a comparison, I doubt if I could get more than $8,000 on a private party sale of my beautiful, highly optioned 2000 LS400 Platinum Series with 107,000 miles.
