So check it... ive done some searching and ive found quite a few threads of people posting up their exhaust setup, some even include a sound clip. and though there has been talk about compiling everyones setup in a thread it has yet to be done (well as far as i know). So i guess i'm making an attempt at doing just that.

My main reason for this thread is because i'm interested in hearing what the LS400 will sound like once the rear 2 canisters have been removed OR what it would sound like with straight pipes running from the flanges that the mufflers bolt up to.

Basically straight pipe from the point circled in pink back...



So... if at all possible could youz guys post your setups along with clips here?

in the meantime i can dig up some of the clips that ive listened to along with the users that they belong too


Oh yeah if there is already a thread of this kind mods feel free to delete after leading me into the right direction

I have this setup on my car. On idle it has a little V8 burble, you can hear it at WOT, but it isn't that obtrusive at all. Of course all my other toys (2 wheels and 4 wheels) are louder, so this isn't saying much.

I had a friend drive the car about 4 weeks ago, and the minute he started it up and revved it a bit, he asked "does it have aftermarket exhaust?"

I have been so used to it, and my other cars are so shrieking loud, that I thought it was quiet.

Would post a sound clip but:
1) Don't really care
2) Don't have the time to sit behind my car with a recorder
3) It is such a simple mod, not enough to justify to spend the time for this.

Here is current set up. It is no resonators with OEM Y-Pipes. These are when my tips were 3" x 7". I have since swapped the tips to 4" x 10" which changed the pitch quite a bit. It increased the resonance from before.

sweet! yes. please do not trouble yourself with getting a clip of your car. your description will suffice

as stated before i have searched for sound clips and ive heard quite a few. but the setup thats in question (which you happen to have) ive yet to actually hear.
