Hi everyone,I'm new here and I just bought my first LS last night. While driving it home the car kept losing its engine power...as i steped on the gas it would do nothing...the guy I bought it from gave up on it and I got it very cheap...I'm thinking maybe the IACV or TPS...Does anyone have any other ideas? Oh yeah...in park the car is very responsive,no spuddering or anything. Thanks

Hello,

check while driving if the economy lamp sturn red when you push the gaspedal.
It might be the inner hoodcover which closes the airinlet!

Most likely the coil pack on the car need to be changed. Do a search under the key words "engine losing power" and you will see several threads on this topic already.

Is there a way to see if the coil is bad? I read in a past thread that if you pull off a plug wire off the distribtor and the idel drops then its a bad coil. both sides the idel drops on my car....but wouldn't that happen anyway because a cylinder is now not firing?...all my plugs are black...please I need some advice before I tackle replacing that drivers side coil!Thanks!

This is a long shot but it happened to me.

The wires coming from the ALT were rubbing on the exhaust manifold and started grounding out. It would really stutter while on the road but rev nicely in the driveway.

Even took it to the dealer and they couldn't find it!

Just my luck...Yesterday I changed my sparkplugs and the car ran great... I checked the coils and they are fine...car ran great.... so i decided to detail it... after the car wash and doing the vaccuming...the car had a knock to it...my fan was wobbling! I figure that it is my waterpump...the bearings in it must be going... so I'm about to tackle this...I read at www.lexls.com a DIY...that its a big job...man I'm not looking forward to doing it...anyone else do this? Also, it said that I should replace the #1 and #2 idler pulley and the timing belt tensioner...Why do this? Isn't the water pump and timing belt replacement enough?? please help me. Thanks

Ok so it was not the waterpump at all...thank god...it was my fan bracket housing that was bad...the bearings went in it...much easier job to do compared to what i was looking at with the waterpump...i found one for $215.00...anyone know of a place cheaper?
