Default Heated seats in 95 ls4 don't work!

Neither of the heated seats work. The pass switch lights up, but the drivers' side does not (guessing bulb is out). neither of the seats is getting warm and I have a hard time believing that both heating units are bad. I checked the #30 fuse under the hood and it is ok. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. also, any advice on taking out the center console to see under the switches would be great. Thanks in advance!!

I doubt it's the switches, more likely the power unit or heat cores, but here's a little advice on getting to them.
I just realized you have a 95 LS and it might be different from the steps for a first gen LS..be warned there may be screws in other places that I don't have described here..but if it's any help....
.
First you have to pull the center wood console cover off (by the shifter).
- Lift under the wood by the inside corners closest to the cup holder. You might feel like you're going to break the wood but its pretty solid and it only held in by two rounded metal clips. Just reach your fingers under and pull up. (palms facing the cupholders).
- Now you can reach your fingers under the pop out ashtray and cigarette lighter unit. Reach under, (be careful not to touch or pull any wires) and pull straight back towards the shiftknob. You might have to do it one side at a time (there's two clips). Once agian you may have to use some force especially if this is the first time it's been taken out. Remove slowly as there may be wires.
- You can now see the back of the ashtray unit, disconnect the 2 or 3 plugs that control the heated seats, traction control, and power the cig lighter.
-The lighter unit should be out now and you can actually take off the individual switch units to inspect them.

That's about all I can think of, hopefully the first and second gen console setups aren't too different.

Default I have the same problem! Both heated seat not working!

HI,

I also have a 95 LS400 and both heated seats are not working! Both of them lights up but just doesn't get warm.

Does anyone have any ideas? How much will it cost to get them fixed?

Just the heated wires under the leather get worn out and burn after a few years. Lexus used electric current to heat up the seat and after a long time those wires got too hot and burn. To replace it , you'll need the new leather bottom and back covers.
