Default 93 LS400 suspension question

I am sorry for not searching, I am at work and have a limited amount of time to browse the web. I am in the process of buying some stock springs/struts for my UFC10, but i just found out that they are for a 98 LS. Will they fit my 93? A yes or not answer please no flaming, just a quick question before I have to get back to work
thank you very much
~Ahmed

Bottom line,,, later model suspension wil not fit the earlier years cars. It will not fit at all.

...and wrong yet again

when ahmed contacted me about this i told him that 95% they will fit. after doing some part number cross-referencing it all told me that they are different and wont fit. well instead of listening to lexus fan-boys all day we did the nexy best thing...try it out....and it works.

well the shocks are on the car and they work as good as new. so it is possible to put 98 ls400 shocks on a 93.

good day

there is a reason i say the things i say, at the time this particular post was made, there was a thread that was at that exact time on the front page of the LS forums that had an answer to his question.

so make me stop.

the reason i told him to search, was as i explained in another thread, you CAN fit 95-00 shocks/coilovers on a 89-94 car. but the problem is that because the 95-00 use a longer stroke shock, the shock would blow prematurely and be more susceptible to bottoming out when used on a 1st gen chassis.

this is also why big companies like Megan and JIC can use a 1st gen LS for a test/prototype base, then market those coilovers (often with slightly adjusted spring rates) to both 1st and 2nd gen cars.

this is also the reason why the Tein CS will only work properly on a 2nd gen car, they were prototyped on and designed for 2nd gen cars.

so will the reverse be true as well...a 94 strut will fit on a 95, it is just shorter?
