Default Flameout on '99 LS400

FYI , last night our '99 LS400 with 31K miles had a semi-flameout.

While moving along about 35 MPH the red LED came on. A second or two later the VSC OFF and Check Engine dash lights came on.
The car coasted to a near-stop.
Pressing the console's VSC OFF switch had no effect.
The tack disclosed the engine was still idling but usual accelerator action was absent.

The first two-thirds of the accelerator travel was just freeplay. I then discovered that depressing the accelerator to nearly floorboarded position resulted in 'some' engine revving.

Putting it back in Drive and slowly pressing the accelerator all the way down resumed forward motion. It sounded like the engine was over revving and the transmission was remaining in third and upshifts were somewhat harsh.
It finally got us home. The next morning the Lexus dealer determined that the problem was an intermittent 'throttle lever assy' #2206050011. It was replaced under warranty.

Golden Colorado,

I use to live in Arvada, Westminister, Boulder and Frogmont (Longmont).

My 2 sis's and mom still live there in Arvada.

Anyway, just thought I'd say that.....I must be homesick being as I haven't been back in 10 years. :-(
