hey guys, some of you may have this same problem: oil leaks from the valve cover on both side of the engine.

And the oil leaks to the exhaust and smell kind of bad; I wonder how difficult to replace the gasket; I know there is a write up at lexLS.com but that is for '90-'94 LS engine. do you know any write up for '98 LS400? Thank you in advance.

P.S. Is cylinder head cover & valve cover same thing?

They are the same. Pretty involved. I had both done with timing belt and water pump for 1800 2 years ago.

Did you try and tighten the bolts, they do come loose.
Strange that gaskets on both sides fail at the same time.

Thank you photoinc and cpcc; I'll tried that; the bolts of my '94 LS was really loose and I tightened them but never check out my '98 bolts yet. I guess they must be loose too since the leak are pretty bad.
