Default Remote help + Steering column

1) My 95 LS came with two factory remotes. Everything works on them no problem. However, the "trunk open" button doesn't work on either.

I mean both remote buttons can't be bad, is something wrong with the trunk?

Trunk opens with the key inserted, and also opens from inside. No there is no trunk strut problem.

2) on my SC, for the steering auto tilt feature, there is a defeat button on the steering wheel. If you press it, the steering wheel always stays at a certain position.

On the LS, it always moves out of the way when you take the key out. I know it is supposed to be convinient, but I want it to stay at the same place, not move, and come back, every time you take the key out.

Am I missing the button or the LS doesn't have it?

1-you are HOLDING DOWN the button right? try replacing the battery.
2-no, the LS doesnt have it, but it can be programmed in as a dealer setting, do a search for CBEST in the LS400 forum there are a few PDFs running around.

Yup holding down button. Ok will change out batter.

I noticed the "dealer program" thing on the "hidden feature thread." But that seemed to be 98-00 LS.

Will my 95 be able to be dealer programmed as well? ANd what will it do, permanently stop the auto-tilt feature.

I am surprised that the LS doesn't have it.

Thanks for your help.
