Just posted a message earlier about Wheel Bearings, NOW I need help with the Two (2) Motor Mounts and Transmission Mount on my LS400.

Can anyone tell me what the cost and hours for repair at any shop other than the Lexus Dealer would be on these?

Thanks for any help or ballpark numbers.

Labor for engine mount is about 3-4 hours book time. Realistically a shop can do it within 2.5 hours. Labor rates will vary, but $75/hour seems to be the norm. Transmission mount itself is very quick. You can probably do it yourself in under half and hour. I wouldn't even pay anyone to change the tranny mount unless they're including it in the engine mount deal. It's just way to easy to let the shop take your money.

Quick question on this same issue.

I have the good old vibrating shifter and it seems i'm getting vibration in the whole car from it as well. Still checking wheel balance to try to solve it but i'm suspecting the mount as well.

Anywho, where can I pick up a replacement tranny mount.

I don't see it listed on parts america even.

Ok,
I found it, here is how to replace the motor mounts.

Its pretty easy if you have a lift, and a jack stand that will reach, I used an exhaust jack stand. I removed the bolts top and bottom (you will need a stubby 17mm box end wrench for the drivers side), there is a wire loom that runs across the front of your cross member, you will need to remove both 10mm bolts, in hind sight...you need to disconnect your power steering hose or you will brake it. I started with the passenger side, because it looked easier, and was. Once you remove the top/bottom bolts put your jack on the outside of the oil pan (you wont require enough pressure to hurt it) and slowly start jacking the motor up, I would use my foot to jack the motor, while my hand was on the mount so I would know when the mount had enough play to be removed, you have to slide the mount up, and then down and out. On the passenger side it comes right out...once out remove the heat shield, and metal keeper, you actually have to pry it off, and snap it on to the new mount, install it the same way you removed it.
As for the drivers side...there is a sending unit twards the front of the car, disconnect, and remove the unit, this will give the space you need to remove the mount, and even doing this, it will be very tight, but if you rotate the mount, wiggle it around, and even pry a little you can get it out, I removed the heat shield while it was still in place, you wont get it out with the shield still attached, so remove top and bottom bolts(this is where that stubby 17mm comes in handy you need it for the top bolt, I didn’t need it for the passenger side, but it would have made it easier) , position your jack to the other side gently lift, making sure nothing is binding, the motor mount goes up, and down and out, when you put the new mounts in you might have to raise the motor a little more due to the mounts not being squished. One thing I forgot was you will need to remove the splash pan.
I think that’s all, the trans mount is easy, you can look at it and tell how to remove and replace nothing special.
