Default What is this piece UNDER my car leaking?

OK guys, this may be difficult to describe, but I will try. I was looking under my car the other day, cause I noticed what looked like water, but A LITTLE darker (maybe a ttaadd of reddish), and oily. It is leaking from a part underneath the car, near one of the boots on the drivers front side of the car (closer to the outside of the car than the boot). With the car running, I could see it leaking. There are two (metal I think) lines that run to and/or from it. Any chance someone can check under their LS and see if they can see what I am talking about?

If you see my other recent post, you will know that my car is in NC now, while I am home in FL, so I can't snap a picture of it, or else I would.

If it helps, my PS fluid is leaking.

Thanks!

Would coolant be a reddish oily liquid though? You read my other post, and there I stated that my WP is leaking as well. But, I didnt think that was where the WP was located, UNDER the car. Unless, of course, it is leaking onto the part I am talking about.

Well, I tried my best, but I can't see the part in the picture, but I circled where I remember it. Hope it helps!

steering rack could be leaking. once you get it home from the t belt and wp job, clean it all up and jack up that side and have someone turnthe steering wheel while you watch where the fluid comes out.

Also squeeze the rubber boot - if you feel liquid then the seals are shot - bummer as that is the main reason why the LS racks need to be replaced.

It sounds to me like your power steering rack is leaking.
