1994 LS400

Hello everyone ~
Well my glovebox light is due for replacement and well , I am having the hardest time getting the plastic cover off , do you guys have any tips on what I can use to pry off the cover and that is the proper way to do it (prying it off) ? so if anyone knows please post , I feel stupid lol

I think it takes 3 people to change a glove box light bulb.

I seem to remember last summer when I did a self-install of a factory CD player into my '96 LS400 that access to the bulb seemed to require removal of the glovebox.

I say that because upon reassembly I inadvertently forgot to reinstall the lamp socket and fixing my oversight cost me about 30 minutes of rework to drop the box again.

It's not a major task, but also not something for the casual bulb-changer. Seems I recall two 10-mm bolts and 4 or so phillips-head screws and the whole thing was laying on my ankles.

Changing the right front headlamp (low beam) bulb was equally inspiring, requiring removal of the air intake ducting and the air cleaner assy. just to be able to reach it. Then looking at the new bulb suggested that maybe it was a twist-lock process. Bzzzt! Wrong again. That's when I learned about the the plastic clips that held the rubber moisture/dust shield in place.
