Default Got backed into

Kid was driving to school this morning and someone backed out of their driveway into the side of his car, bummer.

Did you get the info on the other driver? They have insurance?

Yeah, it’s a neighborhood kid, he would like to try to get it fixed without insurance being involved….as he doesn’t have insurance.

My first impression is that looks pretty bad cost-wise to fix it properly. that wheel alone without the tire is almost 400 dollars, the door may as well completely replace it, the qtr panel .. that's going to take some work to get that to even look right or be right and I don't know if you can ever get seam line right as it was from factory, thats a bad spot to get hit. Take it to a couple of body shops get the estimates, then give him the repair cost. That's all you can do as far as your dollar amount claim what is owned to you, but tbh it's going to take some real professionals to make that right again the same as it was before. 2-4K to fix it? I am not sure. Hand him the bill, or his parents. Or you will have to end of taking them to court likely if when they don't pay. He doesn't have insurance so he likely doesn't have any money either to give you.

I got to a couple grand in my head real quick, I have a trusted bodyshop and my be able to get it over there tomorrow.

The kid doesn’t technically live at that house, it’s his girlfriend’s parents house but he’s there 7 days a week. Apparently doesn’t have a good home life and he was remorseful but I don’t want to come out of pocket if I don’t have to. He asked if it would be possible to make payments to me, may not have another choice.
