Please help...
Hi all,
I'm new to this forum. I hope someone will be able to help save my 94 LSCD (CD=400). It has no problem starting but once I try to accelerate the RPM needle dropped all the way down to 0. I hear the rattle noise from underneath it as well. I gave it a new set of spark plugs and fuel filter but no help at all. If anyone ever encountered this kind of problem OR have any suggestions on how to fix this baby, PLEASE...PLEASE help....Thanks

Try checking the IAC (Idle Air Control Valve) for a blockage. It is located near the throttle body. Sometimes carbon gets down in the tube. Also clean throttle body from carbon. You can get a spraycan of Throttle Body Cleaner cheap from anywhere. Take off the air intake manifolds and check that the throttle plates are not sticking.
Check that there is no air getting into the throttel body that does not pass the MAF (Mass Airflow) sensor. Make sure MAF is connected and working.
Try those things for starters Then go electrical.

I get a rattle underneath when I accelerate at idle and then let go. Once the RPMs drop down to normal, theres a large rattle, which my lexus mechanic said was due to bad engine mounts. It seems right, but does anyone know if this is true? Maybe its related to your mounts too.
