Default SC400 tranny in an LS?

ok, heres a question for the masses. is there any information or anyone on the boards that have swapped a manual tranny from an SC400 into an UCF10? my thoughts are that its fairly possible and shouldnt take too much modification but then again i have never owned an SC400 so my knowledge on the subject is fairly limited. any insight?

As far as I remember, only the SC300 came with a rare but optional manual transmission. I don't recall of ever seeing one on a SC400.

The SC400 never came with a manual transmission. Putting the W58 from an SC300 into an LS400 would be a TON of work.

There's a few people that have put the manual tranny in a SC400, but the mountings are completely different, all of it has to be made custom, along with a piggyback ECU since there is no ECU for a V8 that will work right with a manual, and I believe you need a custom driveshaft as well becuase it sits different in the car.

Go search around the SC forums for people that have done that, theres a few threads going, and it is a TON of work, easily over $5k.

for me, thats more work than its worth. i like my auto for the daily so im gonna leave it that way. the only reason i was considering it was to have something different. but now that i know this its not worth doing all that just to replace the automatic that i like. again, thanks for the insight.
