Default Magnaflow Wide Open Series 95 LS400

For all looking at muffler delete / resonator delete / hi flow mufflers, here is some news. Like many of you, I started out by deleting resonators and running new tubing to stock mufflers. It made it a little louder with a rumble. I drove it for almost a year and recently decided to go to the next step.

I installed MagnaFlow stainless wide open series with a 3" rolled tip. I was worried that it would sound like a Dodge truck but it does not. It is twice as loud as with just the stock mufflers. I cut out my stock bumper to accomodate the 3" stainless tips.

I did not go with an X-pipe and dual 2.25" tubing from the headers but may in time. Did it give me more power? Who knows. It sounds like it did. According to MagnaFlow, the mufflers are good for 8HP. It seems more punchy but the bottom line is it sounds more like I wanted.

I looked at Borla, HKS, Corsa, Greddy and Apexi. I chose MagnaFlow for sound, price and durability.

I have pictures and will post a video clip on YouTube for those interested.

Labor on mufflers/tips was $45 per side.

Post pictures of the rear. I recently picked up some magnaflow stainless steel mufflers online and they came with a huge 4" double walled tip. I would like to see how big 3 look on the car before making any decisions.

Here is one. The other one is in the car, along with the X-pipe.

These were taken in my dorm room, so if you see anything interesting...you should understand =D

I can bro. I made one earlier but it was for 16:9 - I am making another this afternoon in 4:3 format so it looks right. I have one at idle, take off and drive by. I will get it one the net today.

Here's a shot of the back - the 3" tips look alright but 4" would look better. The mirror finsh cost $20 more than satin. Remember the labor to put each muffler and tip on was $45 per side.

Here's another shot from the rear showing the canister - better than OEM:

One last of the side:
YouTube video to follow to see and hear them

Hopefully this will help some of you that are considering changing the OEM setup. So all I have now is high flow mufflers and no resonators. I still have the OEM Y-pipe - may change later to X pipe and duals. For now, this is just fine.
