Yes - and also, don't text or use your BlackBerry while driving(unless you're making a phone call via Bluetooth). I've seen girls texting while driving - not a good idea.

Michelin MXV4's are hard to beat for what you are looking for and they last over 50,000 miles when maintained properly.

I just installed a set of the Goodyear comfort treds and they are indeed very smooth and quiet. Keep in mind, they are only a T speed rated tire and are in no way a performance tire. Like you, I like smooth and quiet. So far, they have delivered. They also performed well in the one rain shower I drove through. We'll see this winter how they perform in the snow. In some reviews, people claimed loss of MPG but I have not witnessed that on my 98 LS400. Hope this helps.

i've installed kumho SOLUS tires on LS's and they were very quiet. teh ecsta's are more of a performance than cruising tire, so they will handle a bit better but be a bit louder.

don't judge people for talking on their cell phones in the car. Thats lame. I talk on my phone alot because of my work and I still give driving 100% priority.

i've heard the Primacy's are even better than the MXV4. They mxv4 is discontinued. I've heard good things of the kuhmo Solus as well.

I'm with Omarg. It really depends on the person. I'm for hands-free to be mandatory though...I've noticed that when I walk around my campus, it's always idiots blocking the way while walking in front of you or driving. Pure bovine.

There should be a scientific study on cellular phones effectives on motor coordination and reflexes.

Turanza Serenity's by Bridgestone are very quiet and good for all season. Cost a little more than some of the tires mentioned, but worth the money.

Why do people start talking on the phone after they get in the car?

For what its worth, my Michelin Hydroedge tires are very noisy and harsh.
They hum like a snow tire at highway speeds, even with low mileage on them.
I definitely wouldn't recommend them.
