Is the emblem for a lexus...
an L for Lexus or just a symbol? Ive owned an Acura before this car and the A emblem is not an A for Acura, it is a protractor. Just like the "H" for Honda, its not an actual H, its the symbol for a Hatchback, the way Honda began as a car company. Lotus and Subaru have some f'ed up emblems for their cars.

The A for the Acura symbol is not a protractor. It is an engineering caliper. The idea of the caliper comes from its engineering precision. During the late 80s to about the mid 90s, the motto for Acura was "Precision Crafted Performance" thus the engineering caliper train of thought.

Well, sure. If you look at it that way. The Lexus L is just the letter L. The BMW Rondel is just an emblem. The Toyota T is just a twisted looking T. I get your point. I guess there really is no meaning in anything a car manufacturer puts on their cars. It is all a marketing gimmick.
