Default Some progress pics of the paint job...

This is the most nerve racking part.. waiting for the car! Atleast they've done a pretty good job of repairing all the damage to the vehicle.. especially the roof damage, and the numerous door dings.

Here are some progress pics.. they're still sanding the vehicle down. Then it'll get primered, and painted.. I'm in India right now, so hello from the motherland! The car should be ready when I get back home..

They painted my gas tank lid to show me what the color would look like. 2 coats of clear:

Car looks like a POS right now

The bumpers and the rocker panels still have to be sanded. They are removed and sanded/painted seperately.

I'm pretty nervous! I hope this comes out looking good!

Bodywork and prep are the most important steps to having a great paintjob.
What shop is doing your work?

You're absolutely right. Its all in the prep. ProKraft auto works of San Jose, CA is doing the job. They come reccomended from a fellow member who owns a BADASS IS.. I trust his judgement (I'm referring to josephdoc)

Looks like its being done right...nice Suneet. I like it when they do good prep work like that...most places just scuffy the existing paint job and spray over, only to have it peel a couple of months down the line...

...I'd like to beat the people that did my girlfriends Prius...that shop got paid $4K cuz she got hit in the rear...and they did a job that looks like 1 Day Paint did it....

Glad they stripped it down. It's coming along...

If you like the shaved look, I'd have the rear emblem holes filled in. Besides, you won't get the emblem ghosting after a few years.

Thanks for the comments guys. I hope it turns out lookin good! I was worried about the color not coming out right.. but I think its exactly the color I want. I was also worried about all the dings etc, but it looks like they're getting them pretty well. They weld metal ontop of the damage.. so thankfully no bondo or any crap like that.

No I'm not shaving the emblems. They just popped them off to paint underneath them, sand off all the extra glue, and then put the new ones back on. I'm actually thinking about getting an "LS400" emblem added on the right, because I think it looks really unbalanced / unsymmetrical without it. Plus with the clear tails I just bought, I need to distinguish it from the ES (j/k.. I don't really care about that).

Suneet - looking good so far - the LS is built to last so props to you for spending the time and money bro - Are you sure you don't want to debadge the trunk? I am doing my 95 and getting the trunk repainted.

looks good so far. normally i'd agree and get the rear debadged but i think some black pearl emblems would look sick with that color.
