Default Parts prices

I needed some quickie maintenance parts and made some calls to the local shops...the differences are crazy! I needed these; serpentine belt and reservoir cap.

Cerritos Lexus: $58,$18
Westminster Lexus:$72, $29
Carson Toyota: $40, $12

What's up with Westminster?!

Why would I hate free mochacuccinos?

I just got personal beef with a few of them, that's all. Long story.

Yeah, I should have went to toyota for the same price. The old one was still in good shape, so that's in the spare tire area.

Yeah Stevens Creek lexus up here in NorCal has a huge service center as well.. It is a seperate location from their 3 story dealership.. it looks like a hospital for cars.

Their parts prices are ridiculous as well.

Carson all the way

I myself have witness the same phenomenon you describe Mike. I remember my local dealer being exactly DOUBLE the price of Sewell Lexus, not including Tax that i pay for the local dealer, and all the gas i spent going there to pay for the part, then going AGAIN a few days later to pick it up.

FYI:
OEM Toyota belt is actually made by Mitsubishi if im not mistaken.

I honestly would suggest a gator (made by Goodyear) belt from Auto zone. Its quieter, and cheaper. Compare the groves, and you will see what im talking about.

Ditto. I'm running a Gatorback belt on my car. Much better over OEM.

It amazes me the spread of prices. Before the new Westminster location, parts prices were in-line with most dealers. Give take 5-15% depending on part. Now...

Carson is great, they wouldn't be able to complete my order in my narrow time slot though. So I went with Cerritos Lexus.

Good info on that Goodyear belt. I'll keep them in mind for the other cars.

ive had instances (plural) where i needed a part and carson forgot to ship it out to me, and luis had his driver DRIVE out to my house the same day (~1hr away) to hand deliever it to me
