Default does this hurt the tranny?

hi guys. earlier today i was backing up my car and accidently shifted in to park and i heard this loud screech from my tranny, i promptly put it back into reverse thinking it was a manual for a sec cuz i havent driven my car for awhile. now im just curious if that did any damage. it was sort of loud... lol car is ucf20 96 ls400 btw.

never know it is really bad for it but if it works it works your deafintly not suppoused to put it into park thought while its still moving very baddddd!

if it happened once and for a short quick burst then u most likely didnt harm the trans, u do it a few more times and its ur *** gone

basically the loud screech is the trans beating itself with a big piece of metal.

Yea, it shouldn't be very bad off unless you've done it a few times before. The trans can only take so much.
