Yup you heard me...I saw the wierdest thing today. I drop top LS400. It was on my island that I live on and was for sure an LS400 with no top and needing paint badly. I don't think this is common...i sure hope not because it was ugly as sin.
hehe, u learn much being on CL and the internet in general. that and ive seen what a 2GS looks like with the roof cut off and no support (junkyard trip 101 )
roll bar wouldnt have helped at all. a full blown roll cage (which would act basically like a chassis, tying the front and back halves of the car together) are what you'd need.
ive seen a 1GS that was turned into a drop top, but it was a VERY involved process which included chopping a section out of the middle of the car and turning it into a 2dr. 100% custom job in japan.
I cant remember the place but I did see a 1g ls drop top a couple of years ago in a magazine. the cost was about $3500 for almost any car. The acura legend coupe looked kind of decent though. I dont know about the B and C pillar thing though.
Would like to see a pic of a drop top ls400. Never seen one sounds interesting.
Interesting...kinda like an old Lincoln Conti. I couldn't imagine a 4 door convertible other than a jeep, i think it would look absolutally rediculous.
