Default 1992, Wheel and Tire Size

Howdy,
I'll be getting new wheels soon, since the stock ones have become crippled by age. Right now, I'm looking at a used set: 17-inch Motegi MR7's with 225/45/17 tires. Now, according to thetirerack.com, 235/45/17 tires would be the best fit. I'm wondering how far off(speedometer, etc.) using the 225's would be.

Thank y'all for any help.

That would be a +2% error. So if you're speedo says 100mph, you're going 98mph.

235s will result in +0.6% error, or actual speed of 99.4 mph.

Huh... The guy changed his mind about selling his set.

Now, I'm looking at some 16-inch wheels with 225/60's. Do you think that tire size would cause any problems? 225/55 is recommended, but I either cannot find them, or they're twice the price. According to the calc, the 60's would make the speedo 4.5% slow.

get on ebay and find some better wheels... you probably won't have to spend much more than what you are about to spend on some small wheels...
i can suggest a particular ebay store that has great deals on pretty rare hard to find used wheels if you are interested.

look at some pics of some of the cars here and decide what you want to look like before you spend money. going from set of 17's to a set of 16's suggests that you aren't sure yet of what you want to look like.
