Default Just bought and 95 lex and began the maintenance :)

Hey guys, i just traded in my 99 cadillac seville STS full option for a full option "i think" 95 white LS400 with air suspension and a little more $. It has 103000 miles on it and ofcouse being that old, its not in excellent condition . ive been wanting one for so long. i was gonna get an sc400 but the interior, well im pretty sure everyone knows about that.

so now to the maintenance. i have done throttle bodycleaning, i used up the wholecan hehe. timing belt, water pump and the alternator has been changed. well i know what you all might be thinking, "alternator :0, its probably from the power steering pump".....well yes it is.

I have a p/s fluid leak in the front of the radiator, from the air valve cotroller and the rack and pinion boot. My mechanic and i are gonna fix everything up on sunday, hopefully everything will go smooth. its gonna cost me around 500 bucks, damnit. oh well.

i would like to start on the mods but damnit i wanna get all the maintenance done first, this is gonna push me back quite a bit.

i do have other minor problems like; interior upholstery, Driver heated seat dont work and the bottom engine splash guard is shot to ****.

oh and the dreaded speedometer needle problem but cant seem to find a solution fo it and i really dont want to put in paper pins.

how much would it cost to buy a new one "bottom splash guard" from the dealer, has anyone bought one before, i can't find it on the forums and i don't know the exact name. any help would be appreciated.

btw, i am currently on 7 different forums, this would be my 8th one. so i know the rules and i wont be posting newb Q's.

thanks guys
FM

Congrats on the new LS! Looks like you're getting most of the maintenance out of the way in a hurry. Only thing I might do along with your P/S fix is flush the entire system and clean your solenoid on the rack.

I'm sure others will chime in on the rest.

u get my happy welcome since u actually know how to use a forum

keep searchin' and we'l get along juusssssst fine

dont even bother the dealer, the engine splash guard is like $400+.
best bet is finding a salvage yard.

and if u think urs is torn up u should see mine......im ankle height off the ground and like roadtrips and girlfriends who have really really steep driveways
