Default Rear brake pads 94' LS

I need new brake pads for my rear brakes in my 94 LS 400. Where do you all suggest buying these from? I've got a mechanic who will do it for $125 (parts and labor). But I 've seen the pads much cheaper on the net. I'm a realtor, drive alot, and don't want to buy the cheapest, but also am not looking to "trick out" my brakes either.

Thanks!

just buy some midgrade pads from autozone and have your mechanic charge you the 60-90 in labor. That way you get oem replacement pads instead of the cheapest stuff (what your mechanic will probably put on your car). Win-win.

My mechanic charges maybe $40 labor for back brakes. Use that as a reference.

I have a question about my 1994 LS 400 rear brakes....they are disk/drum. Does any one know where to buy the rotors and pads/drum liners? I pulled them apart to replace the pads, and to my surprise I found a set of drum brakes inside???
Thank you for any info you can supply.

Drums and disk brakes are 2 different things and do not look similar at all. What are you referring to?

The brake shoes on the rear parking brake drums almost never require replacement. On my 2000 LS400, the brakes shoes are OK if the lining thickness is above 1 mm. Since the parking brake drums and shoes almost never require service, most people probably don't even realize they are there as they are on most cars with rear disk brakes.

the LS' rear brakes (as well as many other cars) use a disk/drum setup in which there is a small drum brake inside the rotor.
