Unhappy Need Help Bad!!!

hey everybody,
I recently was given a 1990 ls400 by my mother. I loved the car when she had it. My friends and I are going to turn it into the ultimate pimp car. The problem is... the car doesn't run. When we turn the key, the starter spins but no fuel is being consumed. We tested the fuel pump and it turned out positive. This leads me to think that it needs a new computer. Am I wrong, has this ever happened to anyone else ? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

when you say the starter spins, do you mean the engine cranks over?

Have you checked the fuel pump ECU?

First thing I would do is pull all the computer codes since so many things on these cars are electronic. How did you test the fuel pump? If it is providing enough flow and the pressure near the fuel rail is within specs maybe there might be something wrong with the injector system? I'd disconnect a spark plug and pull the corresponding injector and visually verify its working. Have you checked the ignition timing?

"pimp out" -put a huge a/v system (4-15"s) w- navigation, some nice rims, clear corners, 2% tint on all the windows, exhaust, and intake kit. If you guys can think of some other interesting ideas do share.

Sort of, we bypassed the fuel pump ecu to make sure the fuel pump worked.

Thanks for the new ideas, I'll have to check them when the garage opens.

I fixed my SC4 just yesterday with the same problem after changing the ECU.
