Just picked up a '92 LS400
Hey everyone. I'm not sure if this is the right forum to be posting this in, but I couldn't find a better place to post it. I'm a new member here, and I just bought my first Lexus. I LOVE this car! I got it from a neighbor of mine who had a lot of trouble selling it. Everything on the car still works, and it drives as smooth as glass. The exterior is flawless, and the interior is nearly spotless as well. The only issue with the interior is that the climate control display is broken, which I'm not really worried about. All said and done I ended up picking the car up for $2,000. There was a catch, the car has 224k miles on it, but from what I've been reading on this forum that's barely breaking it in on these cars. Hehe. Here are a few pictures:
I feel like I got a pretty awesome deal on the car. I'm in love with the way it drives. I've been driving Mitsubishi Eclipses for the past 8 years, so this level of luxury blows me away. Haha. Does anyone have any tips on some preventative maintenence I can do to keep this thing alive for as long as possible?

Nice car. Great price.
I just picked up a 92 ls also. I have been through the climate control problem. To make it short, I should have removed the old one and had Jim Walker fix it or get a replacement from him. Aprox 200.00. It is easy to remove. There is a tutorial that explanes it very well. I don't feel comfortable posting Jims address & ph #. But if you look on this site or the lexusowners site you will find it.

I'm nervous about servicing the tranny because I'm not sure how well the previous owner was keeping up with their fluid changes. I haven't checked the condition of the fluid yet, I suppose I should do that soon. Hehe.

holy crap dude. you stole that car. It looks flawless. I didn't even find a door ding. I bet if the owner kept it like that i bet its maintained by the book.
Nice color too! Its my favorite. My 93 just turned 224 yesterday. Runs great.
Your so lucky. There are never deals like that in the south.

Thanks for the replies guys. I got a chance to check all the fluids and see how things look under the hood, and everything looks perfect. I'll definitely change the tranny fluid and keep up on oil changes religiously. I wanna extract as much use out of this car as possible. Hehe. Here are a few interior shots. I apologize for some of them being blurry and crappy. I'm normally an avid photographer, I was just too lazy to break out my DSLR and take real pics. I'm gonna clean her up and detail her real nice, and then you guys can expect some serious glamour shots.
OH BABY! Integrated Car Phone! Hahaha
6-CD Changer, works great once I figured out the CD's have to be upside-down.
Check out the tool-kit, NEVER been used.
First-Aid kit, also never been used.
The lady I bought the car from said it had the Nakamichi Sound System, but does it? I can't even tell the difference, it certainly doesn't sound like it would be Nakamichi.
