Dealer wants $1400 to replace Rack and Pinion
I recently took my 1991 ls400 to a lexus dealer and they wanted to charge me $1400 just to replace the Rack and Pinion. They said the part alone was $800, thats too much I found them from $182 and up at my local auto parts stores with lifetime warranties.
I am in the process of buying the part, only thing is they offer them with "Evo" and without. I dont know which one my car has, I also am assuming you can put either one on. The evo one is more expensive, no by much though.
Which one do you guys recommend, with "Evo" or without? It seems "Evo" is better for freeway driving.
Here is a link to what "Evo" stands for;
