Default Went through Records and found I have a new transmission

Hello ~
I have a 1994 LS400 and well i was going through my records and I have found back in 1997 the car had a new transmission and Catalitic Converter put in (Is that right) RIGHT before 50,000 (isint that end of warrent ??) well I was wondering if this trans will be Ok I think it was remanufactured and i want it to last. I mean the bill was upwards of $5,000 and the core knocked off about $2,000. WHY did this happen, the car had like 48,000 on it and this sorta scares me knowing that it happened. Records stated it was having a hard time shifting into 2nd and 3rd , I just wanna know if anyone else heard of this kid of issue.

Was the work done at a Lexus dealership or elsewhere? Is it warranted?

An LS400 definitely should NOT fail at 50k. I would suspect abuse of some kind. When is the first scheduled tranny maintainence in the Owners manual? If someone serviced the tranny and it leaked or they didn't put enough fluid in... it could have been damaged. Using car as a tow vehicle is also taxing on transmission life. Teenage drivers are also taxing on vehicle longevity

Catalytic converter failure is also a sign of abuse. I don't want to scare you but it does seem odd.
