Default Guys, my Lexus stinks! (a la Seinfeld)

My father recently passed away. He left behind his beloved 1992 LS400. This car is *PRISTINE*. It has 160,000km's but the car is a time capsule. One problem - it stinks! The car itself doesn't smell, nor does the leather, but when I turn the heat on, the car quickly fills with the most repulsive odor I have ever smelled. I've been told that it could be a water leak, but water CAN'T smell that bad. I suspect a dead animal, but I have no idea. I am trying to sell this vehicle because the rest of my family has no use for it, and I've had several people contact me about the vehicle, but I cannot sell this car to someone without rectifying this problem.

I have three questions:

Does anyone have any clue what the smell could be?
Does anyone know how I can access the intake duct or anything where I could spray some Lysol into? (keep in mind, I am not mechanic-literate).
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you so much!

When I first bought my car, I had a look under it and found that the little hose going from the evaporator core to the underbody was almost completely blocked off at the end with some orange sediment. I broke the sediment off, of course, but you should look for the drainage hose under your car as well - it's probably retaining water that resulted in mildew infestation of the HVAC system. Drain the water and then you can try running the heater on max hot for a while, then spray either lysol or the real-deal odor elimination stuff they sell at NAPA into your inside and outside vents.

What does this hose look like? Where abouts is it located? I'm taking this car to a mechanic tomorrow, but I have a pending deal for tomorrow evening so I have to make sure it gets fixed.

Thanks!

It's definitely a sad time in my family, but we've managed to stay positive. We're a strong bunch . I'd love to keep the car, because as I said, it's in *MINT* condition, but I'll have my dad's '75 BMW 2002 to restore so I should be OKAY.
