So I floored it from a dead stop and the RPMs went all the way to the redline, and instead of shifting the car just cut off the fuel. Then it shifted into 2nd and fuel came back. This is the first time I had this happen, but it always shifts pretty damn late, it lets the RPMs go all the way to 6200 or so. Am I having a tranny problem, or could it be because im driving in CEL mode with my MAF disconnected?
reset ecu and see if it happens again, if it does that means that ur trans needs a flush and if it doesnt it means that u taught the ECU to hold the gear before shifting and u need to try letting off on the top end so the trans will shift into the next gear.
Well thats the thing - the ecu was just reset when I unplugged the MAF... The tranny does shift if i let off the gas, and all the shifts are very smooth, I can't even feel them, so I doubt its a tranny problem.
I know the feeling, I usually drive the car at a very reasonable pace but the few times that I have floored it, it goes deep into the red zone if you don't let off. I wish it would shift slightly earlier when flooring it.
