Miles to Kilometers-LS400 1997
I may be moving to Canada. Does any one know:
1) Can I change out the speedometer package with a Canadian version and get kilometers per hour? Is here other pieces needed? is it feasible?
2) Is the outside temperature reading, seen in Fahrenheit, changed to Centigrade by changing the sender under the front cowling OR the digital read out in the cabin OR both.
3) Did Lexus just take a American desitnation wiring harness and add a lights on circuit for the Canadian models OR is the harness completely different?
Any help provided is very much appreciated.

I think you will be surprised how quickly you will learn to automatically convert between kph and mph and between celsius and fahrenheit in your head when you have to do it on a daily basis.
Doesn't the speedometer on your U.S. spec LS also include the kph scale like mine does? I've spent the equivalent of several months on multiple trips driving U.S. spec personal and rental cars in Canada and never had difficulty adjusting.
When I used to have a European spec Mercedes in the U.S., I taped a conversion table to my dashboard. I needed it for only a few days.

Miles to Kilometers
I appreciate the comments regarding differences between US and Canada. As it is I am still interested in making the conversion therefore the questions regarding what needs to be changed. At the end of the day it may be just too hard to do and/or costly.
Appreciate any and all feedback.

David

Take a look at your owners manual to see the differences of Canadian and US spec ed cars.
The harness are the same but have DRL and some other slight changes like headlight washers.
You can get a JDM cluster but i doubt it might fit as they are right hand drive and have many other options.
A Canadian scrapped car if possible to find could help also.

I appreciate all the feedback regarding changes that can be done with exisitng parts to convert US destination LS400 to Canadian.
If I can track down a wiring diagram for Canadian LS400 (1997) it will show DRL circuitry but that may be it. Perhaps a phone call is in Order to a Lexus dealer in Vancouver or Calgary or Toronto.
Thanks again to all.
